Well ma 110 is in a local garage getting a nice new gearbox (from Andy at AW transmissions top lad) clutch and a few parts changed ready fur winter. Told Tim any dramas call me!

So today got a call saying, where the cross member fits there is a lovely hole that has been bodged and your going to need a fair bit of welding.

Went and looked, not impressed as its right were the cross member fits. So the welding needs a bit more care than just a typical patch.

So bollocks.....had a small back up fund that I really didna want to spend..........MRM Landrovers (now called Heritage Landrovers ) strikes again.....

Tbf it is a common area to go and cant be noticed until the crossmember is removed for gearbox work....just had the same issue with mine after i thought i had tackled all the chassis

AW also overhauled and re-geared my transfer box.

Andy is a pleasure to deal with and a dying breed.
I'd recommend him to anyone.

Ginge I did some homework and posted a thread on here reference gearboxes. I got advice from various members and AW came up on a few folks. so I took the plunge spoke to Andy and was happy enough dealing with him on the phone. I was going to buy a transfer box of him as well. but he advised me not to quite yet. So yeah I,m happy enough to recommend.

As for MRM, he was based near Loughbrough and a few folk have had bad dealings with him. Recently he has changed trading names again (he has done this a few times I,ve since found out)to Heritage Landrovers LTD. I recognise his farm from the new arty shots. Quite a lot of bodges on ma 110 ive found over the past 10 months

Mate it was the elongated hole with filler that got me. Tim at the garage I use had a right drama wea it

+1 Sound tradesman Andy

Used Andy earlier this year - recon R380 box and disco transfer box

Thoroughly decent chap - incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable

+1 again pleasure to deal with
