Anyone know a good, sympathetic (R reg disco doesnt always look worth saving to everyone) body repair shop in the Wirral area?
Well I wasnt planing to meet with a Honda this morning when I braked, skided (downhill), over compensated and scraped my front wing down a Honda (CRV?).
Anyway the Insurers (Direct Line) want to take it to Howard Bassford (A large repair shop in the area who to be fair did not do to bad a job on a 406 of mine a few years ago but have a generally "big company, don't care" attitude and have managed to fit wrong parts to 2 vehicles belonging to people I know.)
My usual LR specialist doesn't do bodywork, put me onto someone they use who doesn't want to touch an insurance job that size (to much hassle) and passed me to another local firm who he says are good but not particularly Landy and the people I work for had 2 very dubious MOT's from them a few years back (can you really pass a van with only 1/2 a lens on the high level brake light?)
So if anyone has any sugestions I have till 2pm to tell the insurance if they take it to Basfords or not. I can't take it to far as if I choose my own repairer I have to get it there and I have no indicator and a nasty sharp bit where I pulled the bodywork back from the wheel to let me drive it 5mins up the road to work. after the "incident".
