Hi,

I have a series 2a land rover with the original engine, marked as a 10J. Unfortunately the block has blown, and is cracked down one side, which I have been told is unrepairable, or you can possibly weld it. Rather than welding it (as there seems to be alot of doubt), I have sourced a new block but it is for 5 bearing diesel 2.25 engine. Looking at various sources, it seems that the blocks are the same, does anyone know of any issues fitting this? Or alternatively does anyone have a 2.25 diesel engine?

3brg crank wont run in 5brg block but pistons con rods ,cam etc will swap over but 5brg block will be metric bolts apart from head securing bolts and 3 brg imperial i may have a block as petrol and diesel blocks are the same but not cranks ,will need rebore i would think
