Should be able to get at least one jcb tyre in the back. More if its a pickup.
Got 265/75 Cooper Discoverer STT on mine, standard height suspension, but its new, is your suspension old (has it sagged)? I wouldn't like to go much more than 285 just incase they start to rub the arches, the tyres rub the radius arms on mine and I have 30mm spacers with discovery alloys

you may wish to do a search on the subjects of 'what size tyres can I fit on my landrover' aswell as research into the implications and downsides of lifting your landy (if that is what you meant by the term 'upgrading your suspension'.
