Hi, i'm new to this site and need help/advice on my dads Range Rover Classic 1992 3.9 vogue, the dash has no Speedo, mileometer, fuel gauge and just today the rev counter is stuck at 500rpm. The only thing it has is the temp gauge, I do not think it's the whole unit because about 10 months ago I changed it with another unit and got the same problems with a lot flashing dash warning lights.
Any help would be good.
Darren.

Have you taken a goosey at the electrical connections to the binnacle??

I think on the 92's the dash was all electric (i.e. not a cable drive for the speedo) and if you have the same issues on 2 different binnacles - it can only be the services feeding it....

Speedo I think is a speed transducer on one of the rear wheels (or if it is a cable - it is from the Gearbox)
Rev Counter is most usually a feed from the Alternator!
Fuel gauge comes from where it says it does....

Considering all of these are seperate systems, I can only think it is corrosion in the multplug(s) to the binnacle

Hi dbutch, you'd better nip over to the Introduce Yourself thread before the Old Ones go all girly and hissy.

I concur that it is most likely the services feeding the binnacle. There is a fair bit in the Haynes manual that explains the stuff. Do a search on here and you will find some answers...I did. :)

Agreed, '92 is all electronic, speedo feed comes from transducer attached to chassis (passenger side) but normally if this drops out the EFI warning light should come on (when driving).

To the OP pop the binnacle out and have a close look at the tracks on the back, look for evidence of corrosion and as already said, check connections etc as well.
