So I had my remap with alive tuning a few days ago, and they tested my MAF and it wasn't giving a reading so it was using the set reading. They put a new MAF sensor in (£70) so I'd imagine its a pretty good one. But with the new MAF disconnected my revs go up much faster, so if I wanted to say pull out fast on a roundabout, I could do it double as fast without the MAF. Same with launching, if I hold the break pedal and then throttle it, its much slower to get up to the turbo range than without it  So is this just normal, or could it be a bad sensor..although I would think they would monitor the reading of the new one when they remapped it.. It idles fine etc without it, could I just not put one in?

Hi mate you don’t need the maf can just leave it unplugged

I would say try a genuine one in a Land Rover box and see if it improves... the only issue is they are over 100 quid

If it's only a few days since they tuned it, ask them first before messing with anything! Don't screw your warranty (if any) with Alive, they _do_ have a good reputation .. :)

+1 for that... ONLY genuine LR is reliable, no matter if it's VDO/Siemens OEM or anything else

Think your spot on there, going to give them a ring tomorrow and see what they say, maybe they can test the output reading and maybe I'll try a genuine.. depending on price

I agree with Paul. Better to ask them first. If they have installed the MAF which is not correct now I guess they will change it...
I have also changed my MAF which is not genuine LR and works fine, but I also agree that it has to be a good quality.
