It would be cheaper just to import a diesel one! (whole car, not engine) and a whole heap better.
I read the LR diesels aren't any better than the Petrols anyway.

No luck so far. Turner Engineering only machines the cylinder heads for the 1.8i, they don't rebuild them. Bearmach only sells 'new' OEM land rover engines, which would undoubtedly be the most expensive way to go.
Anyone have any experience with freelanderspecialist.com ?
Ask them what they know about lifter preload on a v8.
Which is why I said no,a rebuilt 3.9 they did lasted about 100 miles before nearly all the valve springs broke from being coil bound,Skim the heads then the deck face and dont make it up with rocker pedestal shims and it all goes wrong.oh ffs
