Hello
I have had my P38 for 3 weeks. The first time I left it in my garage for 3 days the battery drained(i had left it unlocked with the key in). I recharged the battery and used it for a couple of days and then it was left for 3 days and the battery didn't have enough power to start it.
My question is what is the best mode to leave it in (locked unlocked ect) I also have video transmitters in the house which although don't transmit on 433mhz the remote control return is 433.92mhz.
Anybody got any thoughts on this?
Have a nice weekend.
Regards
Mik

It would go flat with the key left in it,the becm will recognise the key is in and think you are just about to start up and drive off.Try it for a few days with the key out, locked or unlocked doesnt matter. If that doesnt work then park it elsewhere for a few days.If that works you need to fit a new rf receiver,Pn ywy500170.If it didnt, then you have another issue that is probably stopping the becm from going to sleep. The current draw when asleep should be 20-30mA locked or unlocked, measured between the batt neg lead and the batt neg post.If the current wont go below .8A the becm is awake and will flatten the battery in about 48hrs.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. Just another rather daft question. If the battery goes down is it really necessary to disconect the battery. Also is it ok to use a starter charger to start it.

I wouldn´t recommend starter, except in emergency. I had to start mine with starter unit recently and car didn´t like it.
It may not do any harm to ECU:s(they went littlebit confused), who knows, but alternator works too hard when it trying to charge empty battery.

EAS, and gearbox ECU wasn´t up to their duties when i used starter, but i think it was due to very low battery after disconnecting charger.
After short period they gets their mind to order.

After jump start, i just had "GEARBOX FAULT" which disappeared after short period. Didn´t drive anywhere before fault disappered

Earlier, when my alternator dies and battery went flat during driving due to all electrical power taken from battery, i got "GEARBOX FAULT" and car was difficult to get moving. It needs lot of pedal before anything happens.

This is how it should work when there is "fault", gearbox is locked in 3rd or 4th gear, cannot remember which way.

Oh ok,
No mine is in first gear and pulls off at a normal rate and is fine once warmed up apart from trying to pull up a hill it struggles with that all the time.

i had the same problem with my p38 showing 'GEARBOX FAULT' after i had to have it jump started latter found out it was because if the battery level (voltage drops) it give a imbalance on the ecu so showing up faults that are'nt there
hope this helps;) ;) ;)
