Evening guys and gals.

well started up the beast today and have decided it’s time to sort out the mouse (squeaky tensioner)

Have looked at just changing bearings but haven’t found yet.(more search needed)

but at the price of a complete Part is it really worth the effort?

CFD09006-AB97-4922-9308-3E7D04C266EF.jpeg

why would I even consider it at this price (+ postage:()https://www.island-4x4.co.uk/drive-belt-tensioner-allmakes-err6439-p-1145.html

thoughts or options?

Wasn't there a Tech note on the belt tensioner and a recall for part replacement?
On the V8 there was a tendency for the thing to just break-off and you would lose all ancillaries off the affected belt.

Belt tensioner bracket certainly breaks on the oil burner. I've got a new squeak under there somewhere.

Not heard that but will search thanks.

thing is you would be surprised what they transferred across to the 630r.
So not sure fixings are the same:)

Oh, it is a PDF document. if I click on it, it downloads to my PC instantly and can be opened from there.

Got it thanks:) will have a read.
Just got new update on the crapple and it’s crap and really doing my head why they have to change **** that was fine.

Thanks @DanClarke
But seems to reference idler pulley not the tensioner pulley.

Now you have perhaps given me another mouse to look for:eek: no pics handy so guess where I will be after the cup of morning tea:)

Also check the idler under the tensioner, that was the source of the noise on my P38, was plastic, replaced with a steel one, sorry don't have the part No.

Yes I need to check the idler...... but it’s not exactly standard:eek:

Its serviceable, take it apart clean it, put it back and it will work like new again

I am sure it is but need to locate the bearings, tensioner part is fine. Managed to to lube it when I last took it off but it’s started again, So it’s not happy.

it doesn’t get used much so not worried at the moment. More search for bearings as long as they come in at £10 I might consider it worth my time. My time is free to me these days:)

Cheers for suggestions guys.
But it’s a bit of mix I own:) loads of LR bits..... but;) it’s got this stupid 6.3 lump mixed in. So still working through what’s RR and what’s not:D

Sorry had already posted, then remembered you have a 630R .........doh!

Been hunting:) for bearings looks like price varies for £3- 30.
So think it’s time to take it off and pop to the bearing store in town:) see if they have some if not will order online once double checked measurements.

Not like I have much else to do:rolleyes:

I've found Wych Bearings to be very helpful in the past. Not sure if they'd post to Bulgaria but could ask.
