Hadnt thought of that, Slob - but I am instantly against a water based system for removing rust. Sure it might remove the rust, but it will immediately start to oxidise again, as the bright steel will be soaked in water. It would keep the dust down, but I am not sure I want the inside of tufftee to be covered in a film of wet slurry:O.

Taking a stripped-down Disco to a shot blaster mite not be too advisable either - not sure the cops would look too favourably on that one.

well........
I found out the problem - my Sealy shot blaster needs 12-15CFM, so no wonder my little compressor gave up the ghost - but i just invested??:( in a noo compressor so i is now oh facially a pauper. This one is rated at 3HP, 150Litre, 14CFM, 130PSI so I am hoping it will be OK.

so if anyone wants a 50L, 7.8CFM compressor - brand noo (used twice) then PM me.
