I've had similar experience with TF "stuff" - not fit for use IMHO. :rolleyes: - I'm being polite. For once. :mad:

I'm thinking Flatdog springs.... maybe... Will be interested to see how you get on with that pile of goodies ;)

TBF I've have nothing but good experiences with their gear so far and it's been through the ringer with my bad driving.

I have always fancied KONI shocks and OME springs as it is a long standing tried and tested combination.
 
Same before now tbh. I had their suspension on my 90 and that was great.

Dont get me wrong the ride is very good but complete sag in lesa than 2 years is poor. The dampera have had a fairly hard life but 3 fronts in 2 years? Shouldnt be changing them that often!

You're not the first I've heard horror stories from and it seems as though TF is now going the same direction as BritPart did, were brilliant and very reasonably priced, stayed reasonably priced but quality turned to sh!t and then it became pot luck as to whether you got 1st class or reject bin parts in a box.

Looking forward to seeing how you like the new set up, should be a bit sharper and less wallowy for you.

Flatdog are meant to be good!

Made in Britain and, they claim, properly powder coated too ..... £200 for springs is a bit steep IMHO - there's a local place which can powder coat stuff - it's cheaper to buy new OEM and have them coated o_O

The OMEs where supprisingly good value from Island4x4

Yeah seems exactly that way. A mate of mine has had the same dampers for 4 years, uses his 90 similarly and not had an issue.

Seems we have the changeover point then - 93" wheelbase TF can take it ..... but at a 100" it's going to the dogs, and by the time we get to 110" - well, we know how that ends :rolleyes::D

A nephew of ours used to work for JLR - he had a theory that the constant pursuit of ever lighter vehicles with the goal of fuel "efficiency" was making said manufacturers take all the goodness out of things like springs, because metals like manganese, which increase the Youngs modulus, are heavy (!!) .... The real issue is that, of course, this "process" completely ignores the increased requirement for replacement, and the carbon footprint that this generates ! :mad::mad::mad::mad:

May be spendy but at the end of the day if they last then they are worth it!
 
Got a late xmas present today! The custom security hinges I had my mate draw up have arrived!

Quality is excellent, really high standard. Threads are M10 to help take the weight of the spare. Billet ali hard annodized in black.

They will be for sale if anyone wants a set (plus a forum donation of course!)

Glad it helped and indeed also found it very handy without having to mess around lifting the bonnet

also sorted mine out , dam fuse had popped on the aux positive supply , was because I only fitted a 40 amp fuse, is now 70 amp

just took the readings so now both batteries will charge with the engine running , also when the CTEK is plugged in the 12s socket

this is with the CTEK disconnected , will see how long they last before they need recharging

As a side note I also checked with the multimeter with the disco locked and alarmed so now know I haven’t got any residual battery drain

Thats a fair point. Should check that myself, see why the aux battery got so low in the first place!

same here mate , also didn’t realise my aux battery wasn’t recharging , was at 12.5 Vdc and with that blown fuse it was also draining my main battery , bizarre how it happens through a relay but there it is,

spent a few hours proving it 100% the main battery was being drained because the aux battery fuse had blown, only reason it did blow because it wasn’t rated high enough

this is with the engine running and then charging via the CTEK
