Does anyone have a baby seat on their 90?

I have a 2 month old baby and now with the winter coming, and probably snow at some point, would be nice to be able to get out of the house and drive around, as me and the mrs used to do before little one came along..

thing is, I have bucket seats on my 90 and a cubby box...

what have you done to accomodate the baby seat?
I was looking at it yesterday and I think that even if I get rid of the cubby box and fit a middle seat, so I can strap the baby seat on it, its too big and will get in the way of the gear lever?

or maybe sit the mrs in the middle and baby seat on the passenger bucket seat?

baby seat has a separate base where it clips on, and this base is hold down with the seat belt, had to get this as the seat belt on my estate wasnt long enough to go around the whole thing

I wouldn't put a baby seat on the middle seat. At best you should use the lap and diagonal belt for securing the baby seat (rearward facing) on the passenger seat, and put your wife of the middle seat with its lap belt.

Having said all that, if it was me, I'd fit a single seat in the back for your wife and leave the cubby box in place.

the diagonal belt is not used with this seat base.. its hard to explain, but base has 2 holes on each side, at the back, and the seat belt goes through there, clips on the other side and then back on itself...

its like this.. the long bit at the front is adjustable and touches the floor then the seatbelt goes through the holes and the baby seat clips on it..

Could anyone with a middle seat measure it for me? so I can check it fits between the bucket seats?

I might go with having the mrs in the middle seat, take the cubby box and put the seat in there, would only be using it during the snow months, then put the cubby box back in, as little one is too young to go off roading and I dont use the 90 for anything else other than playing in the mud..

I have a child seat in the passenger seat and the mrs has to squeeze into the middle. There is no way you could put a child seat in the middle and change gear ... trust me, it won't happen. :)

no way baby seat takes up too much room, stick the missus in the back and fit a foldiing rear step for her to get in, mine still whinges but knew the baby would go in the front

my two spent first few years in the front wilst the doris rode in the back , now me grand kids do the same (although now i have the 110 crewcab its easy to take um both and the doris)
did have a childs 4 point harnice on the middle sheet in the series , must have chucked it out when we moved last :(

I to put the baby seat on the passenger seat and the missus in the middle.

Our baby seat base needs a full three point belt, and so does the seat when not using the base. A lap belt is no good. Also not of those bases have a let that extends down to the floor. The transmission tunnel is then in the way.

I did lots of measure ups with the car seat, and there is no way you'll be able to change gear with a baby seat in the middle, even without the base. At that age, the car seats have to face backward, and the back of the seat stopped me from reaching the gear stick properly, let alone putting it in second or fourth or reverse.
