I had a G reg 90 that has a rear axle with brake discs, so obviously converted. I’m trying to work out what’s what.
The set up For hubs is as per this parts diagram - i.e. part 10 spacer, seal either side of of the hub.
The stub axle isn’t like the image - it has the ‘D’ shape rather than the tab slot
The stub axle doesn’t have a seal on the inside (axle side) like the later ones.
The half shaft isn’t like the image - its attached to the hub cap, rather than having splines that go through the ‘drive member’.
The Half shaft is 10 spline.
So it doesn’t quite match any parts diagram. Is it a mix match of parts? Would it be original axle with adapted hubs?
I want to understand what i have so i can work out what to do if i need to replace parts. i.e. if i replace stub axles (due to wear), if i go for the ones with seals in the inside, do i then need to change hubs? What about half shafts?
What parts are interchangeable?
Are all axles (up to stubs) the same? I.e if I replace stubs and hubs, is all I else the same?
Are half shafts interchangeable- splined through drive flange or welded to cap?
