I had a G reg 90 that has a rear axle with brake discs, so obviously converted. I’m trying to work out what’s what.

The set up For hubs is as per this parts diagram - i.e. part 10 spacer, seal either side of of the hub.
The stub axle isn’t like the image - it has the ‘D’ shape rather than the tab slot
The stub axle doesn’t have a seal on the inside (axle side) like the later ones.
The half shaft isn’t like the image - its attached to the hub cap, rather than having splines that go through the ‘drive member’.
The Half shaft is 10 spline.

So it doesn’t quite match any parts diagram. Is it a mix match of parts? Would it be original axle with adapted hubs?

I want to understand what i have so i can work out what to do if i need to replace parts. i.e. if i replace stub axles (due to wear), if i go for the ones with seals in the inside, do i then need to change hubs? What about half shafts?

What parts are interchangeable?
Are all axles (up to stubs) the same? I.e if I replace stubs and hubs, is all I else the same?
Are half shafts interchangeable- splined through drive flange or welded to cap?

which of these is half shaft like

its an early disc/ rrc axle
So is the full set up standard for an early disco?
What is interchangeable for other parts? Is the axle ‘standard’ across the range and i need to change from stub outward? Is the hub the old style to match the old stub axle?

you need to order the parts for early disco rear axle with the thick drive shaft

The stub and hub need replaced - they are pitted. Can I put the new style stub axle (seal on the inside) and hub onto the axle I have? Was there a change in axle flanges where the stub axle bolts on?

you can but youd need the correct shafts, hubs and stubs

Yeh I guess the shafts is something I've not accounted for changing.
I cannot find part numbers on the items I have and as originally posted, the parts diagram doesn't match what I have. I.e. the stub axle is D shaped rather than a tab, but doesn't have the seal in the back. Hub has the two seals and thick spacer. Hubs are welded to half shaft.

Half shaft is 10 spline and is of the 'thick' kind as noted. Would that work with the newer style stub and hub?

as i said before, its an early disco so use disco parts diagram,
shafts ftc3186 and ftc3187 have a surface for a seal and are 10 spline which would require stub axles ftc3188 and hubs ftc860 i believe but cant be 100%about hubs
