Recent NEW tensioner
Recent Dayco belt (after getting ATF wash)
New alternator

It squeals like mad.

I have to turn off CC for a few seconds for it to shut up.

Even cornering after it just shuts up triggers it (more load from ACE).

If its just the belt, then some belt dressing* will help it shut up - or, as a short term fix, a squirt or two of your chosen maintenance spray ( Ambersil, WD, etc., etc...)

*( flea bay item 261940631071 is the sort of thing I mean )

It's more than likely a bearing pulley, take the belt off and give all the pulleys a fettle.

Daft question but you're sure you fitted the right length belt? :D There are a few variations.

Was fitted by garage which did auto box pipe.

SHOULD be anyway

I think mine is longest as it has aircon and ACE

What's the outside of the belt like? I had a similar problem (can't remember the brands now) and the outside surface of one brand was quite smooth and rather shiney and the PAS slipped like mad until it got up to speed. Ended up with new (genuine) tensioner and a different belt which has a rougher outer surface and grips the pulley better.

Will check tomorrow (wet at moment and very overcast)

I had similar issue with TD5 belts squeaking/squealing and the only cure was to fork out and buy GENUINE LR belt, they are ribbed on the back of the belt so doesn't slip on the pulleys like the cheap ****e.

HTH
+1 on this, mine did my head in, put a genuine one on and never heard a thing since, as also been said is it the right belt? as there is only a small discrepancy in the sizes,

Dayco are an original equipment manufacturer of belts for Land Rover, therefore they are also a genuine LR part, but without the LR badged plastic bag.

They may be OEM for certain belts on certain LR's, but I can assure you a Dayco belt for the TD5 and a Genuine LR TD5 belt are completely different belts.

I don't say it very often, but it's the one thing I would certainly ONLY buy A Genuine part for (£20+ as a posed to a cheap £5+ part...)

Different engine I know, I replaced my serp belt in 2012 with a Dayco belt which cost £15.76 replacing a genuine LR belt I fitted back in 2007 at £18.04 from the main dealer, the Dayco belt match exactly in material, thickness and length exactly what I expect from a OEM part.
Must be disappointing if you don't. :(

Seems that belts cost a bit more now for V8 D1s
