Attempted Murder of Cameraman - Oldham Green Laning

One of my mates is an Oldham local and sorted a laning day out taking in Oldham, Mossley, Stalybridge, Greenfield, Saddleworth, Scholes and finally Holmfirth. I’m always surprised about the quality of some of the lanes in that area.

The weather was a nightmare and didn’t help me filming the day which was a shame because I was testing out a new camera and some mounts. We also had 3 new guys out with us, one in a Vauxhall Frontera and we were half expecting to be towing him through the day.

It seems to be a common theme now that my mate Clyde attempts to kill the Lowrangers cameraman at least once on every trip. Check out 4.20 to see him actually hit him this time!

Also first trip done in the Vinyl wrap on my 110. I wouldn’t exactly describe the lanes we did as overgrown so not an extreme test but not a mark on it and it all hosed off a lot easier than usual.

that white lightweight looks ace, and that frontera looks like it was only let down by tyres to be honest.

Your bang on mate. We were dead surprised. Some MT's on order I think! Clearance might let him down at some point but time will tell.

That lightweight is brill. I wanted to buy one when I saw that until I realised its a real cut and shut job and is a lightweight body on rangey running gear! Nice job like but rare I would have thought! V8 as well.

Thought it sounded a bit fruity for a 2 1/4 petrol lol :-D

As for the frontera, i dont know them but the bumpers look like plastic trim, i reckon they could be modified etc for better clearance, granted its not going to be defender like but i reckon it can be improved.

Is it selectable 4wd and diff locks and stuff? I know nowt about fronteras

So i counted 3 red discos: There is one with a pin or a piece of metal in the grill on the drivers side. What is it?

Yeah we have all had a look about for stuff that might not cost a fortune to help him do more but we are struggling a bit. He's laning on a budget basically. Selectable 4WD and locking hubs I think!

Thanks a lot mate. Weather really was horrible. I threw so much footage away that could have been good because the lenses were covered in rain!

Another good vid, never been laning around that area but after seeing that will be on the list to do!!

on a budget then, just get some better tyres and be done with it, at least he has some mates with real 4x4's lol to pull him out of stuff :-D

Your not alone! The Strangerover. One of the lads is a mechanic and put the front end of a Classic on his Disco 1. Its a work in progress apparently!
