they can be either. between us and my in laws we have 4 discos, 2 girls and 2 boys.
Mine is Sally from vin as reg doesn't make anything, My husbands was named Homer-Bob by our 3 year old as it is a boy coz it's 'big and has mud power' aka lift, snorkel and mud tyres.
FIL's red one is called Effie as reg ends EFE, and the white commercial is Luke as it's reg ends LWK.
some people think it's daft naming them, but we seem to spend so much time working on them, praying and willing them to work, live through next journey/MOT etc, and they each have individual foibles, it's hard not to get attached to them.
Sally is sat in disgrace in the Warehouse at the mo, after yet another interesting breakdown.
