Hi guys and gals,

im looking for an apprenticship as a mechnic, only being 19 think it could be a good way to turn my passion into an award of some sort.

Have tried to get in with land rover, but also looking for smaller garages,

does anybody have a garage? or know anybody with a garage? in the south manchester area, willing to travel?

Jamie

PS im sure il get some stick for this thread, but ahwell!!

You're welcome to come and do work on my fleet of vehicles... can't afford to pay you though, and i don't have a garage so you'd be working outside... but i have lots of tools and a big kettle :)

Bit far away unfortunatly, one problem you may have is your age for an apprentice but best of luck, i assume you have tried all your local garages ect.

yeh, i have tried pretty much all the local garages, i work in sales at another garage, but they didnt even consider putting me up.

have considered that storm, im kind of doing it with my series 111.

i thought it was more for school leavers, my local college does day release and to get on the course all you need to do is have eployment in a garage.

Having done an apprenticeship I the thick last 5 mins and the talented work for **** all. If you can get garage ti let you do day release and loose days money= days money lost better than apprentice wages. At 16 I was on £65 pounds a week. What happened was when you qualify they don't want to pay going rate.
I moved from £65 week to £200 week doing recoveries- for a bunch of tossers who expected 17 hour days. ****ed them off and worked for AA and was on 25k year (sales), until Centrica ****ed it.
Now electromechanical.
