Hi guys,

Still no news re my beloved Harriet (see post 'Help me find Harriet'). I think I have to accept she's gone to the great breaker's yard in the sky.

I'm getting another Defender and was wondering if any of you guys had tried the Pedal Lock for the Defender? I WILL get a disklok as well, but I've also been recommended the pedal lock. Thoughts?

Ben

the other thing to try is that one way valve thing you plumb into the brake/clutch circuit. that way when they put down the clutch it stays disengaged, so no drive. cant remember the name of it tho!

Its sold by X-eng and is pretty expensive. you can also fit it to the brake line although this IS ILLEGAL in the UK.

I bought a pedal lock from a company on ebay called 'adrenalin 4x4' it was cheaper than a clutch claw, can't be cut off and got a pretty good rating in a recent edition of LRO. I've been using it for 6 months and its a tad bulky but better than losing my truck. :D

Landyman 2005 and Boris, thanks for your interest! The X-eng device sounds like it'd be quite effective - you'd need a low loader to get the Defender away! I wonder why it's not legal here in the UK? The Adrenaline pedal lock is the one I was recommended to - although there's a couple of competing types listed on a well known auction site. I think I'll give this one a go. Cheers guys, Ben

You are wrong. Don't rely soley on a pedal lock.;)

:5biagree: fit/make as many security devices as possible and box it in behind other vehicles. Under some form of roof if possible so the buggers can't have it with a hiab truck. It's annoying when you want to use it but far more annoying if it gets nicked.

My replacement is an Epsom Green 110 CSW and I'm really pleased with it. I've now got a pedal lock and a disklok - as well as the vehicle's factory fitted alarm/immobiliser. And I park it behind gates at night, too.

Fingers crossed time, I guess...

Thanks for the interest in 'Harriet' (RIP)
