Came across the connection which first seen to connect to anything, its directly under the armrest compartment behind the handbrake lever.

I'm intrigued because I thought maybe if it doesn't connect to anything. I'm thinking maybe turn into a iPhone charger if point ? It's perfect placement?

Ideas and thoughts

looks like the rear cig lighter connector

if u don't use it make sure it doesn't short out on any of the metal ,

Yeah I think you're right, I have no rear lighter but there's a black plastic pop off square there ready for one. So considering I don't smoke could I turn it into a charging point for a mobile phone maybe

yes, u can get a usb connector to go in its place , get some spade connectors to extend it, along with some terminal plastic covers and heat shrink

just need to check the sizes , lo

also make sure that it can't earth out in any way to metal components inside the centre console

hope that helps a little bit

It's as Gary said. Although it's for an auxiliary power socket, not a cigarette lighter. There's loads of room to fit power sockets in that blanking plate.
Like this.

oops, don't know why but thought it was the same thing, just removing the cig lighter bit the back section being the same

but know where ur coming from , aux socket has the black small flap at the front opposed to the cig lighter fronts section

have the habit of calling them cig lighters, lol

It's on a different circuit than the front 15 amp cig lighter.
Rated at 20 amp with it's own fuse and relay in the passenger fusebox.

Not at all. You could fit and usr 2 of those duel sockets I linked earlier without a problem.

Excuse me butting in here....

When you say that you could get away with using two of the duel sockets do you mean that 2 x those dual sockets could be connected to this feed and used at the same time or just that both of the sockets on one of those fittings could be used at the same time?

Hope that makes sense, had a couple of whiskies. :D

Reason I ask is that I quite fancy adding one at the rear of the central console and one in the boot area if it was possible.

don't see why not, depends what's being plugged into them

as it's rated for 20amps , as long as there not overloaded

ie , an ipad along with a mobile should be fine
