Well, what happened?

I want to know that if I skid off the road like I did last year when the car was standard (and I twisted the bumper and smashed the plastics) will I do any damage to the winch bumper, or do they usually cope with tree impact?

Also, I'm worried that if I were ever to crash into the back of someone's car, they would surely be crushed or decapitated.

I'm not planning on doing any of these things, just t plays on my mind. Is the disco now invincible at the cost of others?!

Cheers :)

I've ditched my landy with a winch bumper and A bar fitted. Zero damage. We had a mountain rescue landy in at work that had been crashed at speed. The winch was fooked and the ends of the bumper were a bit bent but the centre bit was still pretty straight.

i split the front of a ford focus in half including the engine block, with my winch bumper... put a small kink in my bumper.. oops

Yeah, kinda answers I was expecting.

Gotta admit it makes me smile :)

Winch bumper is a brutal piece of kit! As I say, I don't hope to crash in the snow again bit at least I might be able to avoid a repair next time!

And regards crashing into other cars, i just hope it doesn't happen as damage would be heavy.

That said, once I get a tank guard on I'm kinda hoping for a hatchback to run up my arse, just for laughs :D

Anyway cheers :D

Was in a 90 when the breaks locked on a wet road, going about 30 mph it just hit the other persons bumper.

Slight mark on their bumper, zero damage to both cars.

My dad runs one of those scorpion tubular winch bumpers and hit a transit in the snow at 5-10mph, slid up the front of it, ripped the engine off it's mounts, shattered bellhousing and gearbox moved back 3 inches. All he did was bend the bottom of the wing below the headlight surround!

My standard bumper made a big mess of a volvo once and didn't even show a scratch in it so think you should be ok :D

Two years back a guy in a vitara ran into the back of the works van and his insurance wouldnt pay to repair cos they said his insurance was invalid as he had fitted a winch and bull bars without informing them, the firm had to take the driver to court to get the repairs paid for.I dont know if all insurance companies would be the same.

my (non-winch) hd bumper was fine in a crash, the a bar off it was ****ed and bent into the rad
