Super charger poking out the bonnet and stick on flames are the way forward. Dixi horn just in case the bridge is out helps notify the law that you are in the air. If you are planning some cock/ exhaust action make sure you let it cool down first - leaves a horrible ring......

Checker plate - no, white 5 spokes no, high gloss re-spray no , painted cappings no....
Thats my humble opinion anyway.
Remember, Landies ware the dents with pride......

Actually, I have a confession. Mines yellow. ...... Its ex GPO and I got fed up with poeple asking me when am I going to paint in green. It stayed yellow.

I have already had about 10 people asking me if I am going to paint it green. argghh im leaning toward marine blue now (the light one) or maybe plain white :D

Crappy modular or 8 spoke wheels are right out
Stickers
Big Stereo
"HomeMade" Snorkel

That's my Land Rover not very popular in thi thread either then! I have lots of stickers, including a very small "One Life, Live it" - I like the slogan, I don't care if others don't. or perhaps find it old hat! And a "HomeMade" snorkel. Stereo is not exactly small, but at least I can hear it over the engine noise! I also have a set of new white spoked rims, which have my mud tyres on - they were free...if anyone wants to moan about that then go for it, but I am not going to moan about a free set of new wheels and tyres!

I personally do not think that the modifications I have made (stickers snorkel, stereo, other bolt on bits etc) detract from it's character at all...anyone else disagree?:

I agree that with modifications, it is each to their own. I do think though that if the mods can be easily removed to make it standard again without too much effort, that is the best way.

I think the important words here are bolt-on and stick - on. Landy's were always designed to be adapted for different uses (have a look at the optional extras parts list) and none of this stuff detracts from it's character. You can even have it any colour you want. I'll forgive you the wheels 'cos they were free.

yeah that looks good, bet that turned a few heads on blackpool beach lol......
how have you fixed the jerry cans onto the front?? posting some pics of my beast shortly

Blackpool beach, hehe!

Jerry cans are in standard 20 Litre holders (got them for £10 each at a landy show sometime)...I have a bit of extra bracketry but basically they are bolted to the bumper and the wings.

wow it appears that lowering the series is a no no too, thought it might have been better road handling etc (given that i wont be going off road)... nobody warned me of that one lol

no its not going to be so non standard, i was looking and not knowing what i was looking for and all i could find really were highering kits etc, i just wanted some gas shocks to smoothen the ride a bit, going to try and fix up the leaf springs (thrown a load of oil, etc over them today and will have a look tomorrow...
i just dont know what i am looking for (dont just want the normal standard ones)

You can grease the springs, by opening them up with a bottle jack, and running a small amount of grease between the leaves - stops any squeaking if they get dry. Don't put too much on, you don't want to attract grit!

Keep her yellow! The S3's seem to be crawling up in value now, and ex-gpo's are quite sought after in S2 guise, so yours will be next!
