Was going to put this in the for sale section but dont really know what they are worth and cba with eblag so...

Looking to swap my grey truck cab and tailgate for a set of van/county sides roof etc.

Bought a 90 pick up a little while back but would rather have a van/county. Condition is pretty good (one of the pins has broken off the bottom of the tailgate but can easily fix this just not got round to it yet), its a sort of mid grey but not been hand painted and should be pretty easy to recolour if required.

will move to for sale section if required but since its a swap, wasnt sure where to put it.

I'm interested. Do you have any pictures? I have a station wagon back on mine at the moment. It's hand painted nato green on the outside and a horrible flakey yellow on the inside, so it would need painting up, but it would look superb.

Not the best pics but the cab is now off and at the back of the workshop so will try to get some better ones for you.

Hello,

Well it looks like I can not modify to a truck cab just yet unfortunately :( I have been on the phone to my insurance company (Footman James) and they would refuse to insure me full stop if I carried out the modification. Strange that isn't it? Reduce the number of seats from 7 to 3 and suddenly it can not be insured  I've tried a couple of other companies too (Lancaster, Adrian Flux etc.) and they would all want within the region of 6-7 hundred quid, so it's just going to make it unaffordable for me I'm afraid.

If I didn't have to inform them that I was actually converting the vehicle from a station wagon to a pickup it would be fine - is there a way around this? I'm pretty sure they won't be bothered about the number of seats.

have no idea really pos. My log book just says 4x4 utility so doesnt really say whether its an estate, van or pick up which probably helps with insurance.

On my V5 it states that the body type is a light 4x4 utility. Taxation class type is Private Light Goods Vehicle PLG. Does this mean that technically I could convert it into a pickup or a hardtop without necessarily having to tell my insurers that it has been modified? It started life as a hardtop and it certainly hasn't been declared as a modification. They know it has 7 seats though.

again not sure but my v5 doesnt even state how many seats it has.

If you get sorted let me know, could poss do something with your extra seats too (going to need a least one bench before im done) ;)

I'll have a few words with people tomorrow and see what they reckon. Truck cabs usually get snapped up, so I expect someone will make you a nice offer in the mean time! I will report back tomorrow:)
