Evening all, new member here.

Last year I bought an 1989 90 with a home brew truck cab which had been off the road for 16 years. After a fair bit of recommissioning, welding and painting it was put back on the road earlier this year. We now have a puppy and the truck cab set up isn't really suitable for a dog crate so I'm looking at converting to a station wagon.

My question to the experts is what parts I need. Obviously I know I need a roof, sides, rear door including hinges, striker and latch but is there anything else I'll need like seals etc?

Anyways if your anything like me you want to see some pictures so here they are.

This is the day it arrived in my newly built yet to be fitted out workshop.

And this is after the refresh

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Ben

That is a pretty good job of a king cab, could sell on ok. Has tub bulkhead been lowered/removed?
As sides are likely S/H then new tub to side seals would be good and may as well get a all the way around seal for the door. Bolts and fixings like the ones by the doors for the rear tub corners.

Hi and welcome!

Great Landy! We do like pics so thanks for sharing.

your best bet would be to find someone who is converting from hardtop or station wagon so that you can get all the fixings. You will need the seal between the hardtop and body cappings and the brackets to fit. Otherwise, these can be bought separately. A proper station wagon hardtop with trim will be expensive but you can convert a hardtop yourself much more cheaply or buy one done.

Thanks chaps. The cab conversion isn't as good as it looks in the pictures, the inside is a bit rough. I may have miss spoke as I'm just after a hard top which I thought was a station wagon. Tottot regarding the bulkhead I hadn't actually taken much notice of it to be honest, My initial thoughts are that it's there and unmodified as there is a shelf in the back but I'd have to investigate further to confirm. I'm hopefully heading to the Spares day in a couple of weeks so I'm intending to get the majority of parts there. Interestingly that's where I bought the truck from (100% an impulse purchase by the way)
