Advice needed again please.

Posted in July asking for advice on a non starter and thanks to all who replied I came down to putting a new battery on and sorting the problem without going down the alternator route.

New battery been in for 8 weeks or so without any problems until today.
Had a shoulder op last week so not allowed to drive and motor has been parked up and untouched for 8 days. Got in this morning and NOTHING, not even interior lights. Put a meter on the battery and it read 2.1v, managed to get her started on a jump and checked alternator again. It is returning 14.3v at 2,000 revs so assume ok. Been on charge now for 5 hours and not switched to trickle yet.

Any ideas please as to why it dropped so low with no use, does it sound like I have a duff battery ?

Mad hat Man,

Where is it, What does it do, Why would it have done what you think, and do I not need it,

Thanks

Mad hat Man,

Where is it, off side rear quarter panel. instructions are on this site.
What does it do, receives radio signals - from blipper, wifi units, cctv cameras and loads of other ****.
Why would it have done what you think, and cos it picks up signals from non rover devices, wakes up yo motor and drains yo battery
do I not need it, no it just means yu need to be closer to the motor to operate the blipper

Thanks

or you could change the BECM????

Mad hat man,

Thank you again but your link sent me to ebay, I think I know what you are referring to but can you post me a link that you say is there just to confirm my end

Cheers

You don't need a link to anywhere, you're on LandyZone - you're here!

Open up the top of the offside of your boot space
- two plugs and a screw hidden by the rear seat back
Find the RF receiver, it's the black box with the blue wire that goes to the window, the RF aerial is built into the window
disconnect this blue wire and you radically reduce the efficiency of the RF receiver. This means that you'll have to be closer to the car before your remote will work but it shouldn't pick up all of the other spurious signals floating around that are wakening your car up and flattening your battery - hopefully!!!

Yes, I can guarantee that if you disconnect your antennae in your L322 you will not be able to receive Radio Auchtermuchty.

Saint V8,

With regards your last post on my thread about Alternator Diode Pack, and a similar post from another who left his L322 for a week and drained the battery also I wonder if you have any thoughts on this.
Since I bought the car I have the battery light flickering when she is on tick over, not fully on just a flicker, which goes off when you add revs.
Do you think that this may have something to do with my battery drain,

Thanks
