When you consider that a 90 pick up is 1620 KG and a Tomcat is 1600KG this at 1128 KG is very good and I am pleased with the front to rear balance espcially when you factor in a driver and passenger.
Hopefully it will fly straight and level and with the low weight and center of gravity corner well.

its always a shock when you weigh a dressed axle with how much it is
those figures show what a good job you have done in keeping the weight down and i reckon your high unsprung ratio to vehicle weight will be of advantage in your offroading

We will see. but yes the front axle is more than I thought, but then that is with the solid track and drag links and the heavy end of the radius arms plus the panhard rod and prop etc not forgeting Disco 2 steel wheels. But overall I am happy.
 
Hells teeth thats light !! I weighed mine the other day and was 1800 with winch and me in it and I thought that was light (mines a challenge truck mind)

Well done jusy goes to push me to build a tube spaceframe for my next one :)
 
is there any other way to get the sprung weight of a vahicle? i need to work out what springs i need for my lift and dont have anywhere i could lift mine (disco 1 )

If you know the rate of the springs that are fitted and measure the compression (from the free length) with the weight of the vehicle resting on them you will know.
 
Just to add to Owl's reply, make sure that the springs are a constant rate & compare your measured free length against the LR specs to make sure they haven't sagged too much....Should give you an accurate enough value.
 
I have been doing some research on springs, it is hard to find useful info on the net but I did come across a good few articules and had decided to go with 1.4Hz on the front and 1.5Hz on the rear with 1.8Hz and 1.9Hz second rates and 50% front and 40% read sag to ride height. I hope it will be a good starting point and not to far of what is needed.

I have managed to get back into the workshop today and I fitted the rear window.



 
Loved that steering damper bracket you got there Owl!! Enough love for it I've ordered one for my 90!

Finally fit a disco drop arm.
