i think its better being built in halewood, it may not turn out like the p38, l322, or anything else thats been throw together in solihull. you never know it may even work..:doh:

And you think the FL2 is any better ? ever tried servicing the pile of ****e ? Its just like any other modern car,all very flash - but built out of crap and not a thought from the designers for the people who will have to service or repair the rubbish..If you dont beleive me try looking at a pollen filter from a FL2, I did one this morning,first service from new,there is very poor access because of wiring looms in the way,the filter is so flimsy the original was totally distorted.I cant imagine the one I carefully refitted was going to do a 100% job either.
They are crap,along with all the rest of the ****e that people pay loads for on loans - the whole industry is a joke.:mad:
 
i read today they've even got victoria beckham to help with the design on this new evoque! great just what you want! it will have louis vitton seat trim and a shoe rack in the boot!
 
thems aint really celebs on that launch is it?Best one is the fella out of blur, a year too late for the comeback.
 
Wonder how long it will be before the new owners are squealing for help on the forum. I have noticed the increase in posts relating to the "Wonderful & improved" new Range Rover...2002 on.
One thing is for sure, I ain't interested at my time of life in anything beyond the P38. I've seen the later model and it seems to be just as much a moneyspinner-service wise as previous models. Land Rover's philosophy seems to be..sell the car and make the money back on Main Stealer repairs...it's the P38 repeating history.
To all you P38 owners looking for perfection in the later models..forget it, it will keep your wallet a bit more intact.
To you lucky bastids that have got a "Classic" Rangie...count your blessings and keep it going irrespective of the cost..it's gotta work out better than the P38 or the latest "Wag" motors in the long run....a rotten upper tailgate or sagging headlining is the least of your worries.

Sounds like you are coming to the same conclusion as me.;) A good customer and long time friend of mine got me to service his 200TDI Disco last week,its getting a bit rusty in paces - nothing that cant be sorted.While we were chatting he told me his partners 05 X Trail is on the Bay after blowing its engine on the motorway. It cost 21k to start with and needed lots of warranty jobs to keep it going - till it died at 68k......
It seems all the car makers are going for massively complicated toys,yet very little quality.I've had enough of it,P38's were OK,complex and expensive - but you could fix them and make them reasonably reliable.I dont think any of the current crop are built like that.Even Defenders are very shoddily belted together.

It's just a ploy to drive people into the dealers to be fleeced big time.
New model cars are like wimmin....look great at first then their true colours come out after the deed is done and you are commited !!! By f**k you finish up paying for the decision big time:hysterically_laughi:hysterically_laughi
 
come on lads i think we need to give landrover a break,infact believe it or not they actually do us a favour:confused:now i know you are all scratching your heads but think about it,if you were,nt stuck under the bonnet of your landy the weekend,or foooking about with leaky eas systems what else would you be doing-SHOPPING with the misses and i know what i prefer so the landys a keeper for me:)
