hi

when i bought my freelander the OE aerial was broke

went and bought a similar one from halfords ( yeh i know )

the reception over time has got worse to the point its crap, i didnt get to listen to the radio when the OE aerial was in

is the OE aerial any good please or are there better aerials out there

thanks

gary

Have you checked the connection to both the aerial and the back of the radio? Also check that coax cable continuity is ok and there is an open circuit from earth to the centre core of the coax.

An aerial doesn't deteriorate if it is physically sound and replacing it won't fix a bad connection.

:)

The OE one is excellent. You may have rust build up where the aerial earths to the body. My recent experience of Halfords ones is not good - they are extremely badly made - very poor quality material and construction.

I bought one recently to replace a Halfords one on my camper - the old one lasted 10 years the new one almost fell apart fitting it do I took it back for a refund - looking for a good supplier at present.

If you can get an OE one go for it.
