i understood from 60k but at least shows you how long expensive oil will last though your still not sure at what mileage damage starts occuringLife in this case around 70 or 80,000 miles apparently.
I tend to go along with if it's not broke don't fix it attitude and at the moment the gearbox is fine! with crossed fingers and held breath, but don't know when the gearbox was last serviced and figure it's worth doing then i know it's done. As a matter of personal opinion wouldn't touch an L322 or for that matter any of the later ones. But everyone to there own. wouldn't do for us all to be the same.
On the ZF4HP22 the oil and filter should be changed every 24K miles. Dex IId or III it say's in my book.Well thanks for the input so far I'll keep looking for a more reasonably priced one having taken on board the advice from wammers. Just didn't want to put crap in that would possibly do damage,
Sump is as light as a feather, if I can re fit it anyone canMany thanks for that datatek as i say at least if i do it now i'll know it's been done I've only had it short while and only done about 4000 miles, has stamped service book guess could try phoning round to find out but then i'll only have their word so i think safest bet, do myself to be sure after the problem i had with the front diff i'm working my way through,some can do myself some can't, i think i can manage the engine service myself, as not to much to do underneath, did manage to have a good grease up underneath and had a good look at the gearbox and reckon i can give it a go, just might need a hand to hold the sump back up to fit, but got a mate local so hopefully be able to sort that bit. Just waiting for a bit warmer weather.
because neck and shoulder problems, thats why bit of a project for me but determined to give it a go. kill or cure as they say. told the wife if i get stuck under there to just pass me a blanket and a flask and leave me to it let you know how i get on. but not till bit warmer. hopefully next week or two.

Defender by torq sockets are you talking of the star shaped ones ie which go into the bolt or the socket type that go over as looking at the rave manual may be me but can't make out which. appreciate answer thanks
