Just don't opt to pay by installments if anything might alter during the duration of the policy.
It'll get cancelled because the morons can't deal with basic administrative changes.

Unfortunately in any industry there are going to be the occasional administrative errors - it's unfortunate but will happen. If you have an issue by all means give me a PM and I can look into it - This will enable us to see what has gone wrong and I can do my best to prevent it happening in the future.

Many thanks

It should have been sorted when it occurred, instead AF demanded full payment of the policy.
As it was impossible as i was very ill at the time and off work AF opted to cancel the policy instead.

All this because the company that takes the installments were told of a change of bank details, they took 1 installment then went back to the old bank where it bounced obviously. So i lost my policy, 4 years worth of no claims and was forced to sell my landrover because i wasn't in a position to start a new policy with someone else all because you incompetent idiots could organise a p*** up in a brewery.

No PM is going to solve that issue or turn back the clock. If i could i would make a formal complaint to the regulator.

Sorry that you feel like that M0YAA, unfortunately there isn't much I can do if you're not prepared to give me the chance to look into it.

Best regards

Jordan

Seems a bit harsh to have a go at af...it seems like you were paying the installments to a credit company. .not af and your issue was with them which you didn't resolve at the time...the consequences of you not resolving theses issues can't be af's responsibility surely.

ive never had a problem yet with AF, i have all my vehicles and my house insured with them, and they have alway beat all the renewals

Thanks for the positive response Goldypurple, and also good to see a local member! I live in Swaffham & grew up in the Brandon area :D

Is it? AF were contacted the minute I noticed the money was still in the new account, and a letter was received from HSBC that 2 attempted payment were not paid (the inital installment, then the 2nd attempt.

It was AF who stated to me on the phone that they "could not set up or restart an installment account once they (the credit muppets) had cancelled it, even though it was their own incompetence that caused the missed installment in the first place.

How the hell can a company change bank details on an installment plan, take a payment 2 weeks later, then 4 weeks later try and take it from the old account.

As for not being able to set up or restart installments seems funny because Direct Line, Admiral and 2gether have never had an issue, they merely instruct the credit company/dept to take 2x installments together or set up a new agreement with increased installments to cover the missed payment.

Adrian Flux - Cash over customer.

Never knew they did home insurance. Discount for lz memebers still?

We can certainly give it our best shot.

If you would like to PM me your name & contact details, I can arrange for a member of Household to give you a call back?

Many thanks

Not in the market currently but will bear that in mind when it comes to renewal time.

Hello all

Good luck with any recoveries you make.

I once had a LWB and SWB Pajero insured with Adrian Flux as they were the only ones i could find who would insure 2 Imports at a Manchester address. The price was high but i accepted that for the service provided but i did not expect the rest of it.

What i was not expecting was the strange set up where you are referred to a 2nd company that signs the credit agreement and then you make 12 monthly payments to them so paying interest to them.

I then saw what a bad mistake i had made after a few months of buying insurance from Adrian Flux and when cancelling the policy's, i had to pay the surcharges on the credit agreement loans to end it all.

This was besides the same issues that i had with obtaining my claims free discount to send to them and nearly having my policy withdrawn and i also had to provide proof of mileage etc.

Never again for me, will stick with a high-street or well known insurance firm for my current Volvo and my next Landy, after i have found the one for me.

Hope it all works out for you bud

Regards to all
Andy

Andy,

First of all i'd like to apologise on behalf of ourselves if you have had an issue in the past - I'll try and explain things best I can.

As an insurance broker, if you pay monthly - you will always have a credit agreement with a credit company (This goes for almost every insurance broker in the UK) as you cannot pay an insurance broker directly as your policy is with an insurance underwriter. So as with any credit agreement, when you take the policy out and sign up to the credit agreement, that company pays your premium in full and you pay them back via your monthy direct debits. This is all read out to you fully before you take a policy out (Sent via Email/Post, and then read out on the telephone call via our F.C.A script)

This is a very standard procedure with any insurance broker, car finance companies, and the like.

With us being one of the biggest insurance brokers in the UK, we cannot please everyone. But being able to have a friendly face on the forum to try and help resolve issues, and get to know you guys - I'd like to think this will make a good start.

If you have any issues please feel free to PM me directly, and i'll try to do my best to help.

Many thanks

Jordan

"Adrian Flux should wear a highwayman mask" I couldn't have put it better myself. From my experience Flux will defend the most untenable position in the knowledge that fair and decent folk don't wish to take their complaint to the court room.

If you wish to discuss a forum sponser I think it's fair it's done here rather than post a link to another site where they may not wish to join.

You need to go to the Intro section and tell us a bit about your self.

Plus what is your beef

My beef with Flux came at renewals. It has gone up with Flux this year (not renewing, fyi), with a limited 5k a year policy and no no claims built up (that is my fault for not noticing it when I took out the cover).
Yet a standard go compare brings up several alternatives which offer similar coverage plus allow 10k a year for 20% less and I will gain no claims.

It seems they don't like repeat customers.

You contact Jordan? And did you know rates went up because of EU regulations, And the new post code rating for what you pay

Being a yooff I pay quite a bit, Flux want £590, I found 10 (ten) insurers who came in under £500. But I need to call them today to cancel the auto renew, though will give them the opportunity to try and lower the price to a reasonable one.
