WD40 is not good for locks, it will gum it up.You have a Valet
If you are talking the manual key lock in the door, if its not working probably best to take of the door card and have a look before you need to use it in an emergency and you cant get the door open.
The P38 was always dropping a rod out so the key didn't work, so expect the newer models are similar design.

It wasn't working prior to trying but I thought it might be worth a try. It sounds like something has come off.
