adding a hard top to a 1984 90 pickup

I have a great 1984 90 pick up (Petrol 2.25). I am keen to find (perhaps on ebay) a hard top to fit on. The plan then will be to allow it to carry more than 3 passengers. I will want side windows rather than the van option.

I have a few questions about this.
What hard tops will fit and which ones wont. For example will a recent 2005 or a 2011 hard top fit onto a 1984 90?

Does the roof generally come with sides?
What about the roof lining?

Then i guess i will need to find a rear door too. Do all years fit? Do all bench seats fit?

How easy is it to convert a pick up to a hard top ( and back again)?

How many people will the hard top then be able to carry?

Are seat belts mandatory for the rear seats.

To be clear am i looking for a defender roof and sides? I have seen some ebay sales that also include front windscreen. I assume i remove the cab roof and rear window from my SWB pickup (leaving the windscreen) and then add the roof and sides. I then must source a rear door/ rear seats etc.
btw Does County spec in this case mean sides with windows?

yes ,allthough windoes both sliding and non cab be easily fitted ,you will need 2x extra fittings same as are on truck cab ,rear bench seats can be got new for£30 ish forward facing £4-500,lap belts can be got new £20 ish, go for condition especially of roof later the better ie 300 tdi td5,better to buy good with windscreen and sell that on if thats best available

don't truck cabs an van backs come under light 4x4 utility on log book i thought thay were classed as same thing

Issue is around adding seats where they don't currently exist

I now have bought a smooth white roof yr 2000 without sides. Now looking for sides.
