I've got a 1985 90 and the window blocks for the front windscreen have seen better days. They are the 2-piece ones where the top part bolts to the windscreen frame and is joined by a hinge to the bottom part of the block which bolts through the bulkhead with 2 bolts.

I like the Optimill billet replacements but I want to check with those that know, if indeed they will fit. Optimill tell me they will but wanted to check here before I consider buying?

Thanks in advance.

The 2 piece ones were fitted to the earlier S2 and III 90's serving as hinges so that the windscreen would fold down.
I had a pair on my car when I bought it.
The hole pattern is the same as the later 200, 300 and TD5 models and these newer types fit.

Save your money.
Buy these (other sellers are out there) and paint them to match your car...

Or save even more money and just clean up and repaint your current ones? I know it is personal choice but I would want to paint the optimil ones as well as they should all be body colours, no one wants shiny chrome-esque parts on a proper defender. Body coloured, black, or aged hot dip galv are the only aceptable colours!

I know you say they have seen better days but what exactly do you mean? These are large chunks of ali so will not corrode more than surface which a quick sand down will remove, and the hinge part of it has probably seized as I doubt you have ever folded the windscreen down but if you don't fold the screen you don't need the hinge to work. Light sand over, etch prime, and colour matched tractor/machine enamel topcoat and they will look good as new again.
