Hi, I have a friend in Kent that has a D2 that no longer has ACE, he has asked if I know of anyone that has a diagnostic kit that can be plugged into his car and tell it that it no longer has ACE.
Can anyone around Kent advise where he could go, or is there anyone willing to do it for a drink?

Hi, the ACE system has no effect on the battery drain like the SLS cos it works only with ignition on amnd only if it's fully functional, the tester in this case is needed only to disable the warning lamp ... if no joy with finding somebody with the proper tester it can be fixed by removing the ACE ECU(if it's still there, behind the glovebox) and making a permannent bridge with a piece of wire in the plug between pins 11 - 36 (shown below), fuses have to be left in place

Hi Sierrafery, I think from what he has told me, it is indeed to disable the warning light. If no joy with getting a tester then I will suggest to him the method you have posted.
Many thanks
Tony

My comiserations to him

Because he lives in Kent or because D2 no longer has ACE. :D

Spoke to him today, it's broken down again, he's been having a few problems with it lately and now it needs a new turbo, so now he's going to get a secondhand one then sell the D2!
