ACE or not

hi,
I have front near side knocks and see from other threads this may be related or at least i need to know if i have ACE fitted.

2000 v reg TD5 with rear air bags.

Am looking at front anti roll bar bushes but part may depend on ACE or not !

look under at drivers side chassis ace will have block and pipes fastened to it

does it also have extra arms on front drivers side ?

Yep looks like you have ACE fitted. We have just removed ours from our 2000 TD5 and have up for sale at the mo.

thanks, i will take a look at theh weekend.

i think i will change the roll bar bushes regardless as people seem to think that helps with front knocking.

Hey is it easy to remove the ACE sytem?I have just bought a disco td5.I am looking at putting a 2" lift on it too.will it affect it in anyway,thanks

Hi, got two new front arb bushes from main dealer for £2.50 ea INC !

Didnt look too difficult so had a go today. It went ok apart from each bracket only has one bolt, the other side pushes up into a slot.

To remove the old one i needed to remove the drop link where it meets the top of the arb.

the problem was getting the bush bracket back in its slot and getting the bolt side back up to the hole. i ended up getting a longer bolt to enable me to pull it into line. then supported the arb bracket, removed the long bolt and installed original.

Anyway, i cant tell you how much better the ride is. No clonks,bumps or crashes and it feels more precise.

Next job, yes...the leaking front sun roof...lol
