Having a bit of a dilema in regards to removing my ACE system or not.

Usual deal, red light comes on when cornering only. Stays off when driving in a straight line or when turning to the left slightly more aggressively. It doesn´t come on when turning right.

Oils was changed and fully bled but there´s no noisy pump.

I´ve been advised to remove the ACE system and replace by standard ARBs, but I´m having second thoughts, as I really like the way the truck handles.

I have no leaks whatsoever, pump is working, otherwise it wouldn´t hold the truck when cornering right.

Valve block is expensive new, but second hand ones are cheap. How risky would it be to get a second hand one? I´m assuming these blocks were removed because of similar problems, but some vendors do give a warranty.

Help?...

I would fix it, as sierraferry says, read the codes first. There are a few good second hand sellers. I have an extra valve block here which some one gave me for free.

If it is one of the solenoids let me know, I will post the solenoids for free if you pay the shipping. This block was removed because the pipe connection was damaged rest was working, so I was told anyway ;-)

I live in Ireland though :-(

You should find somebody to read the fault code cos it might be only the pressure solenoid or a directional valve solenoid
Fault codes were read and the system was fully flushed. It was then plugged in again, "shaken" and tested. When performing the test, one of the sides was very slow to rise and lower. It may be that the valve block has some damage, as the previous owner had oil in there that wasn´t suitable. I reckon permanent damage was done to it. Not sure to what extent though...

If you like the vehicle, then it's worth sorting it. Removing ACE is such a backwards step tbh.
Oh, I like it very much alright! It´s up there with my predilection for Alfas.

Some would say I´m a masochist, but I´m not the only one :D

That´s very kind of you. I´ll see what I can do with what I have and will let you know.
Thank you.

The block only consists of solonoids and a filter and some channels, nothing that can't be fixed.

What codes were given?
Only general codes, a pressure fault, nothing else.

There is a grinding noise coming from it, though, and it jumps every few seconds when stopped at the lights, as if it´s having a fit.

Which diagnostics did they use to read the codes?

Grinding noise can only be a solenoid as that are the only moving parts, they open or close. Now you need to know which one it is.

A good diagnostics computer could tell you. Maybe Sierraferry could give his opinion?

He knows way more than me (he helped me understand the system)
