Put the car in for it's pre mot yesterday hoping that they would reset the 3 amigos! They unfortunately couldn't so I went off to the local independent who put it on the machine and advised it was the ABS Shuttle Valve that needs replacing!

Fitted it this evening and the 3 amigos are still showing.

 do I need to have the codes cleared or is it something else! The independent dealer said there was no guarantee it was the shuttle valve although it was the only thing showing when he put it on the machine.

i allways check all sensors first and wiring ,wheel brgs etc shuttle valve allways seems to show as fault and ive only had very few where it was at fault

The "cold" check is with an ohm-meter ... unplug the sensor and check it's resistance... if i recall well it has to be between 900-1100 Ohm, if u'll get a very big difference, open or short circuit then the sensor or it's wiring is faulty. If the sensor is in "range" and u still have a sensor fault code that means it's not fitted well or the hub/bearing has a play within.

Could be the circuit board in the ABS module that the shuttle valve plugs into. Take the shuttle valve off and check the switches with a meter. There are instructions on here somewhere. If it is OK (which it should be as it is new), do the wiring mod. I had the same problem last year ~ did the mod and everything works fine now.
