Did you read and clear the codes? Did you tap em home all the way? Check those silly connectors
Tapped the sensor and I don't think it made any difference. And then I noted that the problem seemed intermittent...
... This seems a little "electrical" to me, so I disconnected the loom connector and then reconnected.
The three amigos went out.
I'll see how it goes, but I may give those connectors a good douse of contact cleaner if the amigos return to town again!

That would be ideal! My good friend Philip has one, but ideally I'd like for him to get this function enabled on the pscan I've got!It's helpful to have T4 at your disposal

Yep I have the same issue. Over the years with changing the sensors the little conectors get a little bigger. I might try the "Jam a bit of tin foil in em" trick. Mine seem worst in the winter they were on/off every other day. Becuase its hot it only happens when the car is driven a little hard when stopping on a sharp left hander like rocking up to a front row car parking space at the shops
I dont know if its worth cutting them off and putting a decent connector on or even if you can do that with out shagging the sensor up .Update time: went over to Philip's this morning and connected up his T4. In short, we found that the replacement ABS sensor appears to be working perfectly well.
Two historical faults had been stored by the ABS ECU: the known problem with the OSF ABS sensor (now replaced) and the G-sensor.
In live data, the ABS sensor gave comparable road speed readings to the other three: perfect. The G-sensor wasn't really playing ball appropriately.
I'd already purchased a replacement G-sensor off the Bay of E's but it occurred to me that the one in the car might not have been calibrated. After all, if you didn't have a T4 with a g-sensor calibration option, you might not know that the sensor needed calibration in the event that it needed changing.
The gamble appears to have paid off. Calibration of the sensor is a one-button press operation in T4, and afterwards, the longitudinal acceleration seems to be entirely appropriate
Time will tell as to whether the three Amigos stay away! But so far, so good.
PS: Now the old errors have been cleared, the warning light ritual on start up has changed a little: the ABS light comes on with HDC and TC, goes out with them and then comes on again until you've exceeded a 0.4mph road speed. This is normal, and this light sequence is a tell-tail that the ABS ECU has no stored faults.
Previously the ABS lamp remained lit until exceeding 0.4mph.

I haven't looked at the configuration menu... might be interesting to do so. Being a 2001my it probably won't have all the options you have....

It is a shame. I'm actually heading up to Horsham in the morning. However I'll be using the Kuga, which doesn't need or use T4.
Maybe you can bring the T4 down when you next visit Cornwall. We can have a beer and chat about everything Rover.
A little update on the 3 amigos, as the story continues...
Summary:
The original 3-amigo illumination on my Hippo was due to 2 separate faults: an intermittent signal from the OSF ABS sensor and a failed G-sensor. I replaced both - and all seemed well for over a year.
However, it would seem that my bright yellow friends are back in the current cold, damp conditions.
Reading fault codes, it shows an intermittent "Right front sensor circuit failure". I can clear the code, and in live data there is a reasonable velocity signal from all four sensors.
I thought that the most likely problem here is the sensor plug. It's been pulled apart a few times (and not just by me - I replaced an old aftermarket ABS sensor with a home-modified cable!), so I thought that the problem was corrosion at the connector and altered resistance from damp entering into the plug.
Initially I thought I'd cured it by spraying with contact cleaner and then covering the terminals with Vaseline to keep the damp at bay. But over the weekend, the Amigos have repetitively come back.
I am now needing a sanity check:
1. Am I on the right path thinking it is the connector? (The problem does seem damp related)
2. Is there a wiring fault either side of the plug?
3. Is the fault with the replacement aftermarket ABS sensor? (I've noticed that the speed value obtained from that sensor is a little different from the others - not by much, possibly only 1kph or so at most, and this varies - and read faster as well as slower; I am guessing that this is relatively normal?)
4. Is there something else that I am missing?
Any thoughts chaps?

Yes: same sensor I replaced.
I’m not looking forward to replacing it again if that’s the problem - but should be quicker second time round
If it's only been in there for 18 months, then it should come out easy.
I'm guessing you greased it before fitting, to make subsequent removal easy.
