Im back with more stupid questions! I've had my abs light on for quite a while now, when i took my car for a brake fluid change at my local specialist they told me that the diagnostics read that it was a sensor. They tapped the top of the sensor and the light went out without connecting the car back up to the fault reader. They said some springs inside the sensors are worn out. I've found some new sensors on island4x4 for £70 or £108, and some on ebay for £20 with a 2 year warranty, im just concerned at why there so cheap?! If anyone has any advice, please help!
Ps. The stupid annoying waste of time and money Hid's are gone!!

No air gap, just push them all the way in, they will self gap....

I got my ABS sensors from my Local Main Dealer and for the L322 were £17 odd plus the VAT (Around £22 all in)....surprised the P38 version is so much more

Springs in the sensors?

I never claimed to be an expert, in fact i am a complete novice, i tapped my sensor down and the fault has gone, is there a reason it keeps moving? Can i stop it or shall i just replace it?

Your either have movement in your hub or the the inner bush that holds the sensor is worn / lose fit .

They should be held fairly firmly by a sleeve within the boss they slide into. If it is really loose take it out and flex the sleeve tangs a little to grip it better. Other than that a wheel bearing with play in it will push the sensor out.

We weren't micky-ing you...but your 'specialist'....;)

Not sure why it would move....does it keep moving out to the point of getting a warning??

Could be the sensor case is worn and is now moving about...but it is more often the case that they get stuck to the point of having to drill them out...

Replace if you must, but they are not cheap for the P38 (oddly) but you may suffer similar if the hole it fits in is oversized slightly...

Is there anyway of holding it in place using a cable tie, or maybe a dab of glue (expoxy or similar...) not a lot of glue, juts a dollop to stop the sensor moving about....?

EDIT: Dang it Wammers beat me to it....
