Hello all, hope all is well.

Have an issue with mother's Freelander 1 54 reg, Father changed Front drive shafts as they were both clicking and magically the 3 wonderful ABS lights came on when we took for a test drive, after Plugging it in to a snapon reader cable up with speed sensor faults, rebuilt one side from a mix of old and new drive shafts the Right hand side has now cleared, only the left hand side has a speed sensor fault. "breath"

Took car to a garage as time health and everything else was against us, they fitted a new drive shaft "supposedly" the correct one. and said all is well but then less than a mile down the road the 3 lights cable back on (after it passed the MOT)

Can I ask you all does the ABS sensor pick up on this car on the wheel bearing or on the drive shaft CV joint Ring?

As when i look in through the Hold for the ABS sensor its smooth and looks like no reluctor ring present?
We have swapped the ABS sensors on the front end to see if the fault moved but stays on Left hand passengers side.

I need some ammunition before I go back to the garage and kick up a fuss if they have not fitted the reluctor ring. or if the wheel bearing has failed? or if the wrong drive shaft has been fitted depending on how the signal is picked up?

As i said up above the issue only started when we changed the drive shafts although that could be a red heron

Thank you in advance

Andrew

At some point they stopped using reluctor rings I think.

Mine doesn't have them and it can definitely sense wheel spin...
