Hey, been putting this niggle off thinking it would go away, still there though. when starting occasionally I will drive to a turn and brake, for a brief moment the abs kicks in and I really have to push hard on the pedal to stop, a few occasions left me close to messy pants :) Not had wheels off yet to check, just checking to see if anyone had similar? Cheers.

I had a very similar sounding problem with a previous TDi 300 and found that if I disconnected the electrical connector to the abs modulator (on the passenger side inner wing of the engine bay) the lack of braking force problem would go away completely.

Obviously there is no longer any abs function.

No warning lighs came up on the dashboard.

Thanks for the prompt reply mate, its just odd because as soon as it warms up there are no problems......Thought dirty or trapped sensor but that would mean the problem would be repeated on a journey surely?

If it's only there (currently) when it's cold, that would lead me to suspect a shuttle valves electrical problem. There is a mod you can do to correct this problem, but first test the system by unplugging as I suggested before.
