I fitted a RTC terrefirma steering damper and i dont know how i feel about it...

seems when the wheels are under any strain turning you can hear the power steering whining a little bit dont know if this is normal cant say i noticed it when i had the standard damper on.... and also the spring thats mounted onto the damper is rubbing on the top of the shaft of the damper ? just a stab in the dark really if anyone has one of these or knows anythin about them :fencing:

cant seem to work it out looked in the haynes aswell nothin.....

1) Not sure what TR stands for, but this might help

Grabber TR General Tire from Ostles Tyres Scotland Ltd

2) Normal to hear the power sterring pump under load

3) Pass - wonder if remains of a former split charging system or supply to a winch? Maybe a security isolator of some sort? Where does the cable lead to?

Thanks its a strange one because i have a set of the General Grabber Tr's to fit there so i cant wait to get them on.

and ill have to take the bolts off and see what it does. i dont know were the wire go's ill have to expore a little more hope it is a split charger system was thinkin about puttin a second battery in :D

what do you think about the general grabbers?

I've a set of TRs they're pretty good, quiet and pretty grippy. Haven't been anywhere very muddy with them but general off road use they cope fine, seem pretty good in the snow too.

hmm i cant see it being the imobiliser because i have another unit ready to put in because i lost the tabs for it and it looks nothing like this. or is this just the housing?

This is interesting about the RTC as I have one waiting to go on

its a pain in the arese to set right as you probably know landrovers have a small amount of play in the steering anyway with the tracking done to the best of a mechanics ability you still strugle to find centre to set the damn thing !

tis da immobiliser... I got one too.
search on here theres a link to a full description of the immobiliser/alarm system somewhere, cant be bothered to find it right now
