If its brake fluid just chuck a glass a water over it. It'll will go milky.....my moneys on the drain from the aircon.....greasy water

or it could be your coolant leaking.....Is your coolant a lovely lime green colour???

It could be ATF, i have seen this before in a clear form, can't remember who made it, but it was deff ATF/power steering fluid and it was clear (ish).

it could also be condenstation from the exaust sys. let it sit over night and start it up in the morn. and look under it and see if you get a drip from it. it will be slow so give it about 10 min. and watch it the hole time.

I'm not French myself, but I can confirm that most of the women round these parts do not have their own teeth. Couldn't comment on their fluid loss, only have experience of my own.
So, Sirus, are you saying that water coming from the air con could be greasy? This sounds like what it is. Yes, the coolant I use is lime green so I would know if it was that.
Swampdonkey, we have a barn for renovation, but I have definitely lost some fluid out the front of it so you wouldn't be interested .....

Never had a P38 -is that cable or fluid clutch? Have u checked ur master cylinder to see if ur losing fluid (if it's a fluid clutch that is ).

Aaaahh. Plan B then. Would suggest the trannie fluid then - can u be more specific about where it is leaking from - the engine to bellhousing gasket, bellhousing to gearbox gasket etc.......

As i said before, sniff the liquid, dip yo finger in it, is it thick or oil or thin like water. If it has no smell and feels like water between yo fingers, then just dab a little bit on the end of yo tongue. Wot does it taste like? I assume yu know wot water tastes like, so does it taste bitter, sweet or like water. If yu dont fancy doing this try a litmus test first.

Com on gel - is it water or oil - does it evaporate after a while or does it leave a nice big stain on the drive?
Nope - just stuck my finger in then licked it!
Its not thick, it feels quite watery, but as I said, it has a greasy feeling. It doesn't smell or taste of anything but left a greasy feeling in my mouth.
It leaves a mark on the drive.

I haven't got my P38 yet, pick it up Friday but in my experience aircon produces water at all times of year if it is running unless the humidity is very low. The water often has an oily feel to it, don't know why and it definately stains the drive.
As for French women, all round here (Poitiers) that I have met have teeth, hair and no visible fluid loss, my one in particular has none of the faults reported earlier
