Dab some of the clear fluid up with a tissue.
Set light to the tissue.
If the tissue burns away including the fluid, its oil or fuel
If the damp part of the tissue wont burn, its water
If its water, and its clear, its condensation from the air conditioning system coming off the evaporator fins as they unfreeze.
And the smelly taste is due to the water passing over oily parts as it gravitates to "firm terra".
And the drive staining, water dragging some deposits along with it, but also enlivening the dirt on the drive like a watermark before evaporating away.
