the problem is when you pull away from standstill it fills as you have no power at all .
No uncommon sounds from engine .
i have blanked off egr ,have decatted exhaust system and replaced rest with sports system, have removed intercooler cleaned replaced all intake pipes ,new fuel/ air filter, have drained sediment trap but unable to find some one to sell seals hace tried landrover dealers in my area but they say they havent sold any in years and would sell me acomplete unit at just under 80 quid.cambelt changed and still no change as told belt could be slac.:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Before we start jumping to any conclusions, could you please answer the following questions:

1. Is your vehicle manual or auto box?
2. How long have you owned this vehicle please?
3. Has this lack of performance problem always been there since you bought the car?
4. Fuel sedimenter seals are available from all good quality LR parts people - such as www.lrseries.co.uk
5. Have you had an opportunity to compare the performance of your TDi 300 against another one?

Look forward to recieving your reply,

Dave

fist of all its a manual
just over a year
yes since i have had it
some one i work with owned one

I think Big Lad's suggestion to compare with another Disco is very important.
Put on where you live and I'm sure someone can help.Side by side comparison is the best way to check out your Disco.remember that Discos have the shape of a brick.

cheers

Hi Steve and thank you for your responses.

I suppose the first question that comes to my mind is - do you have appropriate expectations of performance from a vehicle that weighs 2100kgs, has permanent power-sapping 4 wheel drive transmission and only 111bhp?

Re the fuel sedimenter, I would still look at taking it off and cleaning it, if only for elimination purposes. I done quite a few and never changed any seals - maybe I've just been lucky.

I would suggest the person at work drives yours and you drive theirs then see what conclusions you come to.

will try with out new seals first,
yes hes driven mine and told me that it was gutless .
road tested one that came into our garage and that was also better

Fair enough Steve, get that fuel sedimenter right off and have a good look inside - you may find the creature from the planet Zog basking in there !!!!

take the £1 coin sized tamper proof cap off top of fuel pump mark the position of the torx bit, undo 13mm locking nut, turn the torx bit ( off top of me head could be a T-25 bit but would put money on it) a full turn clockwise, tighten locking nut and go for a quick test run, worst its gonna do is smoke like a mo-fo, if no better turn it back, process of elimination.......

Check the diaphragm in the fuel pump isn,t stuck and clean out any oil round it[but dont rotate it!] Check the thin pipe from turbo to fuel pump is not split or melted ,take it of and blow out any oil . Good luck.

You mention replacing all intake hoses............ALL of them?

It's usually the corner pipe before the turbo that folk miss which has a split in it. Checked that one?
