I will need one for my everyday car

BoomerV8 I so far have not looked at any V8's as Im thinking (running Cost) Do they drink as much as Im thinking ?
cheers

Mine's a V8 manual with kenlowe fans fitted and I'm getting around 20mpg so I'm quite happy with that - not going to bother with LPG this time around.

I guess I have one of the better ones then. Some welding was done already on the arches behind the rear doors, and I have just had a hole in the rear, behind the boot floor where the door rubber goes, welded up, and when I lifted the front carpet and sponge layer the floors are great, just a couple of surface patches in the drivers side.

I've coated all the brown bits with Hammerite rust treatment and smooth blue paint (A very close match) so hopefully have got a few more years usage without worryng.

most discovery 1s will have boot worm ! a new boot floor is about 40 quid or so from paddock so dont let a manky boot floor put you off. if the body is straight and paint is good you can spend a bit on welding jobs and have a decent landy.

my v8 range 1978 on gas 35mpg equilavent cost to doisel and she spins reet up and cackles at the formula novas....
Just done rear arches, alloy boot floor and drivers footwell.Chassis good and sound.

where did you get the ali boot floor from bodmin? sounds like a better idea than putting another steel one back in;)

  you got enough gas to get half way to the moon then :D
thanks for the link beastie, bloody typical it's a good 4 hour drive from me tho :( maybe i'll stick to the disco floor idea

Got one, (a disco) Friday.
1996 Preg, one owner from new,85000 miles,
full service history all done at land rover dealers, every 6000 miles.
The garage I bought it off was 100%. the garage owner even put the car up on a ramp to show me the underneath, I never ask him to do that. No rot anywhere and very very little rust.
the outside has never been painted and looks as good as new.
The engine & gearbox....Well it runs so smooth & quiet you cant tell if the engine is running. Theres no clunks or knocks wines or owt
Honestly it drives like a new car.
Amazed at the fuel,as when I picked it up it was empty,I put £25 quid in and drove 110 miles back home, and the fuel gauge had only moved half way down.
And coming back in very heavy rain, with twin sun roofs NO leaks at all.
I payed £2000 for this, and Im very happy indeed.
This must be one of the best 300tdi's around.
I know ive gone on about it, but Im over the moon with this one.
Thanks for all the advice given from you all.

Or, and ive checked the MOT status on this with whe web and its passed the last 4 mot's with nothing wanting doing to it and no advisories what so ever.
:)
