Just registered yesterday and finding my way about the site. I've just come back to being a Landie owner after being without one for about 12 years.
I bought my landie number 3 last week after convincing the wife it's what we need for caravan towing.
Any way I'm after some advice, 2 things, first, the nut on the wiper connector on one side is broken so I've just been to MM (only live a mile down the road luckily) having removed the connector I find the old one is round to fit the shaft and the new one isn't. MM say thats the only one available now, does anyone know where I can get the old version. The other thing is the Landie is fitted with Goodyear Wrangler 235/85R16 anyone know the correct pressure.
When I got the Landie last week the tyres where around 24psi I have pumped them up to 30 all round and it drives a lot better.
Alan.

The Landie is a 1988 90station wagon with a 300tdi fitted with 25k on it and fitted with external roll bars.

That's the same as the one I got from MM with a allen key screw, the one I want has a small hex bolt.

THe problem is the old style I'm trying to find with the hex bolt has a circular hole to fit on the drive spigot, the new style is a smaller hole and not circular.
I thought Landy parts were available right back to series one, correct me if I'm way off the mark.

Yeh I thought of drilling it out but I thought I'd try and get the right one first.
I'm also uncertain if the steel is hardened and my drill bits would not be up to the job. It's also an expensive bit of metal if I mess it up.

Are your wiper spindles like this? (Buster-hope ya don't mind me using a pic outta ya guides)

Thanks for picture, the spindles on mine are not like that, they have a flat area on the top that the bolt bites down onto. That pic looks like it has a slotted key way underneath, I assume for the allen key version.

The 'slotted keyway' is actually the flat area on top turned to the bottom:rolleyes::doh: This is cos if you take it apart and turn it, the gear on the inside works on an unworn part thus removing any slack in the mechanism.

It doesn't matter what way the flat bit is.. they're the same. Yours is on top and mines is below-ish (the way ah chose to have it).. it could even face side ways anaw;)
Ah could've easily stuck a bolt in there but chose to use the grub screws provided;)
