Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and to off roading, I have bought a 1996 discovery 300 tdi which is fitted with larger tyres, 2 inch spacers on the axles and 2.5" extended springs mounted on top of these spacers so it seems to have a 4.5 inch lift in total..

I have been playing around in a sand quarry today with a local 4x4 club which was well organised and great fun.

Unfortunately on the way home the rear prop shaft came loose at the rear axle end and came off, fortunately as it had starting vibrating a little I had slowed right down and wasn't going fast so no damage seems to have occurred other than the end shearing off the prop shaft.

The axle end where the prop shaft bolts to seems to have a thick rubber washer about 10mm thick, is this correct?

Having read some other posts, there seems to be a question as to whether a standard prop shaft is suitable with a lift fitted? What is the correct set up that I should have as I might as well get the right parts now as the rear prop shaft is off anyway.

Thanks for your help.

yes it is the rubber donut with 3 bolts, I've had a look at paddock online and seen the kit and wide angle prop, is that the best place to get them?
