As above really bad flat spot I have the nanocom haven't a clue how to use it would it be possible please someone in the Surrey area could help run through the basics to get me started on how to use it and hopefully diagnose the problem, any help would be greatly appreciated and lots of tea beer etc Thank you

Hi new cam lifters timing chain and gears head gaskets rings honed bores new mains and big ends oil pump etc, I bought the car running very rough it runs much better now but for flat spot , before any one asks yes cam timing is spot on lol, I have substituted coil packs off of good running engine also maff sensor tps new plugs and magnecor leads, one off the cats is rattly and if you drive it over 5 miles the flat spot seems to improve but can then go back to bad again grrr, hope this is some insight in to what has been done think it needs to be plugged in now with someone who nows how the nanocom works lol
 
You know, I think @Saint.V8 had a similar issue on one of his.

I am in Bucks if you can drive up. I have the GEMS module. However, I am pretty sure there must be a member closer. If someone can record a trace and stick it up here then maybe a guru could spot something.

Have you checked the LZIR map to see if there's diagnostics near to you?
 
@Grrrrrr the way I read it @falconho has the Nanocom just needs to be talked through how to use it.

Oh yeah. So he does.

Plug it in, use the rubber end of a pencil with a rubber on it, select Range Rover, GEMS, GEMS and then inputs. With SD card inserted press the disk icon (anyone even use floppy disks any more?!) and leave it at warm idle for a while recording. Then maybe take a second trace driving. Files will be semi-colon separated text files, the Euro equivalent of CSV. Pop SD card into computer and upload results here. You can import into Excel or similar but you'll need to do text to columns if it is an English spec computer.

Not 3x ladies J, 1x Girlfriend, 1x 5 yo daughter and 1x 18m son....and yes, Land Rovers too......she is now looking at either a 110 Station Wagon (again) or a 110 Double Cab when we move!

I would suggest checking the O2 sensor outputs to ensure they are switching correctly.....

Did you do the correct procedure for breaking the cam in?

Seen a few where the cam lobe has been ground almost flat.
Hesitation low power and flat spots etc.

Also worth looking at the MAF sensor.
 
Hmm I'd be inclined to disagree.

They are pants.

Noisy as hell too.
I do not know which version of Nexen tyres you are talking about, but the Rodain 255/55/R18 109V HP M&S are extremely quiet and the EU ratings show them as low noise, they are lasting well too. As I said, way better than the Goodyears for grip and noise. They were recommended by wil2813 a tyre dealer who used to be on LZ.

Yep cam broke In correctly, maf and most other sensors swapped off of a good running engine new lambas as well, this is why im asking for some help on the diagnostics I have the nanocom just don't have a clue how to use it, im in the classic car business hence lack of electronic knowledge but willing to learn lol
