Sorry to drag this up, but I am in a dilema.
Spent two days reading the threads on this forum; loads of 300TDi owners use veggie oil apparently (or used to - old threads).
How many of you have used it for a long time and had NO injection problems?
A thread from this site led me to here:
Diesel Bob Tuning - Veg Vehicles
and here:
Diesel Bob Tuning - Vegetable Bob
It seems he knows his stuff.
Seeing as my 300TDi ES auto does less than 10k per year, is old with 120k miles on the clock, would I be right in thinking that it is not worth the risk to the pump seals, injector nozzles, possible de-gumming of cylinders and therefore lower compression when the veg oil is £1.10 per L and diesel is £1.38 per L.
I would love to use it if it did no damage, cleaned my system through (without loss of compression) and saved 20p per L (or better if I can buy veg oil cheaper), but if I am going to need a new inj pump etc in 2 years, it just isn't worth it is it?
Yours in confusion and thanks in advance.
